Challenge
AMEX are the main sponsor for British Summertime Festival in Hyde Park. We were tasked with creating the brands front of house activation.
Approach
I helped lead the creative team (XD designer, copy writers, designers, illustrators, animators, editors etc) to develop a two story lounge/bar space, built around the concept of a record store. Each floor had always-on activations, which guests could interact with, such as a style-up station for card-members and an interactive photo-wall of illuminated ‘platinum discs’. We punctuated each day with a number of surprise and delight moments including ‘epic solos’ from musicians and ‘lucky call’, a phone call activated game where guests were required to hunt for certain albums in the record store, to win prizes. The £2.8m stand ran for 3 weekends and had over 50k visitors.
I also art-directed and oversaw the production of all print / digital design throughout the space, including working with three top illustrators to create custom merchandise for the event.
